Find your path...
If you are yearning to shed light on your own ability to create, but are not sure where to start, I will hold the lantern and guide you on your path. My teaching style is rooted in both tradition and experimentation to facilitate your learning process and connect you with your own artistic potential.
My classes require no prior experience in either painting or drawing--I strive to meet you where you are, whether you are just beginning or have been working for many years. You are encouraged to move at your own pace towards creative self expression in a small group atmosphere that is conducive to experimentation, supported exploration, and encouragement. Each student spends time learning basic skills and then is encouraged to gradually move on to developing their own work from their life experience and personal interests.
All classes are held in studio 101B in the Troy Laundry Building at 222 SE 10th Ave, Portland, OR (Doors are locked, not open to the general public)
Classes are offered for $125 per session. Each session is 6 weeks long and includes 5 classes (one class per week) and one make up opportunity (the 6th week in the session is the make up class).
I do occasionally take younger students who wish to explore artistic materials and processes that they might not be exposed to in school. Please ask me about private lessons or small group classes and workshops for kids and high school students.
